SAFETY EXAMINATION OF VEHICLE AT THE ROAD SIDE
Training and Mobility Solutions SA offers specialized courses starting at basic crash investigation and culminating in various other courses.
In order to maintain a state of driver fitness and motor vehicle road worthiness on the roads in the Republic of South Africa, Traffic officials need to be trained to stop motor vehicles on a routine basis in order to examine driver information, documentation and to physically inspect motor vehicles, and when necessary issue notices of prosecution.
While dealing with the public will during the examination, officers must convey an image to the public by the methods and attitude applied when examining vehicles. It is therefore important that respect for the driving public’s interests and dignity be maintained at all times.
This course gives a systematic approach to the examination at the roadside, with methods to inspect the various items, and extracts of relevant Sections and Regulations found in the Act are quoted to aid the traffic officer to complete an examination in an orderly, concise and efficient method. Reference is also made to the necessary South African Bureau of Standards (SABS) publications referred to in the Act.
